In 2019 we began our journey, one that would lead us to form a nonprofit organization called Quilts for Veterans.MN late in 2024. 

Between 2019 and today, our volunteers worked with an organization called Deep Valley Quilt Guild providing patriotic quilts to veterans who had been deployed and/or touched by war. From 2019 to May of 2021 the group presented 26 quilts to Veterans; then COVID hit and the group was put on hold. In October of 2022 Kandy became Chair of the local Quilts for Veterans group which was part of the Deep Valley Quilt Guild. Kandy’s passion and mission for providing comfort and healing quilts to our veterans and service members helped the group become even stronger. Between December of 2022 and December 2024, 113 quilts were presented to local Veterans and Service Members. Happily, our numbers continue to grow!

In March of 2023 the group became a Vietnam War Commemoration Commemorative Partner. Since then, 47 Vietnam Veterans have received Vietnam War Lapel Pins and one (1) Vietnam Veteran Widow has received a Deceased Vietnam Veteran’s Surviving Spouse Lapel Pin.

In December 2024, Quilts for Veterans.MN was formed, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing “Quilted Hugs of Gratitude”; healing, comforting quilts to those who have served in harm’s way protecting our freedom.

We hope you will join us to honor members of our active military and veterans by showing them how much we appreciate their sacrifice and service with our “Quilted Hugs of Gratitude.”  Our hope is that these quilts will provide comfort, love and healing to those who have given so much.
